can a 48' air ride reefer stay busy wildcatting? seems like better deals can be had on a used 48' reefer right now.will be running the southeast and midwest.do not care for the I95 corridor period above nc,that's just me. THANKS for any input.I'm wanting to change up a bit and mainly see the spread axles but i don't see one in my immediate future as they have lots of unit hours and/or are pricey, so regular tandem it'll be if i go that route.

just tossing things around and yes i have ancient reefer experience from the 80's-90's and genuine chicken hauling from '00-'02,plant to plant.not real interested in being locked into that.

suggestions and remarks please and i do appreciate whatever.

We run 48s and have no problems with it. Most of your major chicken plants are down there and you load heavy on about 20 or 22 pallets so plenty of room using a 48.

thanks chicken hauler.i always enjoyed the blood and all getting over the windshields of the tailgaters! I have a warped sense of humor i know but that is the best part of hauling chickens imho. then the mexicans that are covered in feathers as they are in line to get food.that always helped my appetite!

sorry.just flashbacking a little.thanks for the reply.it did pay well-

We haul our own products but most of the time to get a load home it's usually chicken. Some is worse than others. The stuff that is packed in ice is the worst ever.

Amazing what a following distance i used to create back when i was chicken haulin! As for the 48', you shouldn't have any problems.

Used to haul chicken mush (basically crushed boneless clucker), that was some NASTY looking stuff. Took it to Farmland in Wichita. I have NEVER ate bolgona since. Yuck. I did enjoy getting beefblood from combo bins on car windershields, people come by all mad at you. Made my day. :biggrin_25519:

We pull 48 ft reefers. Heavy loads and usually have no problems with back hauls.

I had a beef load one time that looked like a scene from Carrie behind me.
