Also need to check the front hubs after it’s sat for a while. Giving it time to level out. Same with all oil levels. Rears and Trans will flow out as if they’re overfilled when checked hot. They need to be filled to the top of the hole. Not just as long as you can touch it, with finger like many do.

The problem with checking for heat is if one thing gets hot, bearing or brakes, it all gets hot. Quick. Drum, shoes, hub. Temp gun is great, I’ve got a cheap one. I never use it. Just feeling it by hand tells everything, comparing it to the others. If you can’t keep your fingers on it, it’s way too hot. Lol. I would first check the brake push rod travel, against the others, and the shoes for extra wear, hoping that’s the problem. The problem may be bad adjustments on the cool hubs. Slacks may not be working. Brakes not fully applying. Others doing all the work and getting hot. If the brakes check out. Check the bearings. You don’t want to burn one up. I saw a bad Drive axle bearing on a Brand new Peterbilt, less than 60k miles. It happens. Luckily the Driver caught it before any real damage occurred. Don’t put Chinese bearings in if possible. Buy Timken bearings. A few yrs back, there were some counterfeit bearings on the market. Buy from a reputable Dealer only.

yup. But doubt that could be it as there is a lot of space between the exhaust tip and wheels.

The T2000 had a weedburner pointed towards front drive, passenger side. I noticed the front passsenger side wheel end would continually be 30-40 degrees higher than the rest.

Asked an older trucker, he said that was normal, crown of the road was mentioned.

I quit fussing over it after a while.
