They only move 90km/h, which means my fear comes from all the morons who try to pass them on highway 5 between Vavenby and Heffley Creek.MartinFromBC Thanks this.

I do heavy recovery tow work in the winter for a buddy, for two reasons, because I enjoy it, and my business is slower in the winter so it keeps my drivers working more, than if i drive my own trucks. Seems despite 1000 plus companies trucks going through this area, every time we get called out to recover a semi in the ditch, or upside down over a bank, there is about a 1 in 10 chance its an Arrow chip truck.
A few years ago some how, still not sure how the guy did it, but kept going straight down the hill at the ferry terminal just south of Revelstoke, and into the lake. Having ridden that ferry probably 800 times or more myself, that one still makes me wonder. They have so many warnings about ferry ahead, flashing lights, signs galore, and speed limit so low as you approach the ferry, if you closed your eyes for a full minute to miss the first dozen warnings, you would still see more than enough to get stopped with plenty of time left. They have idiot proofed the ferry terminal as much as possible, and still he parked in the lake. Only an Arrow truck could manage to do that.Last edited: Nov 20, 2018

There's one outfit based out of Kamloops that truely terrifies me. They've almost killed me 3 times so far. My old man doesn't have much good to say about them either.MartinFromBC Thanks this.

“Bad” is ok, but “Fat” is MUCH better.
“You know I’m fat, I’m fat, shome on!. Don’t call me pudgy, portly or stout! Just tell me once again, who’s fat!”Vic Firth, TB John, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
Oh come on now, I've only been to that terminal once and if you put it in the big hole and set a rock on the go pedal and took a nap and tied the steering wheel just right you could make it jump in the lake from the grass area...or just stop. We had a different company decide to park in the creek in Exshaw, well they went to get their morning coffeeMartinFromBC Thanks this.

I've seen a lot of trucks, parked in some very interesting places.
A fuel truck in the Kaslo river in 2004 was one of them. I was hired to drive down in one of my fuel trucks and try to pump out the remaining fuel, before it was pulled out. Standing in 30 inches of glacier fed river for 4 hours is something I will not soon forget. Then the next day down there with a tow truck pulling it out. Never did understand how he managed to get into the river. Sadly he was not alive to ask. -
One of the first WTF??? I saw after starting driving was west of sicamous part way up the hill a couple hundred ton crane pulling up small pieces of truck. Only recognizable piece was half the bumper cover having the headlight hole for a T2000 that was in 1999MartinFromBC Thanks this.

The craziest wreck I've seen in the ditch was around Christmas last year. Hwy 5 around McLure, just South of that fruit stand. Guy coming down that little hill lost it on the inside and flew off into that farmer's field about 50ish feet below the highway. They were hauling tires on a flat so just imagine that scene.
Now that I think about it, that same week a crane went off the road and over the bank just South of Fishtrap Rest Area. It sat there for like 2 or 3 months. Looked like they had to build an access road onto someone's property to retrieve it.Nothereoften and MartinFromBC Thank this.
