Five axles is $24. If you go through the I-895 tunnel,it's 96" width only. If you're 102" and go through on I-895 (the old harbor tunnel) and get caught,it will be a lot more than that. Just stay on I-95 Ft. McHenry tunnel or I-695 if you're going through.

To add to above; if you're bobtail, it's $8. Avoid 895 if you can because DOT is always looking for victims there.

During the day,it's a good chance they're camped out at the Francis Scott Key Bridge tollbooths (I-695 Southside) too.

Go too far and they'll get on the Bridge. They even recently changed all the truck restrictions to stop some of the traffic going through the city to avoid the tolls. I do believe Route 1 (North Avenue) is still the main non-restricted route but it will tear your truck up and the locals are just as repulsive as the 1000 unsynchronized lights are.

You did the smart thing going around.
The toll was much cheaper for years,it made sense to pay it and not drive the extra miles around the top of the beltway. When Gov. Martin,"I never met a tax I didn't love",O'Malley got elected,he kept raising all the tolls, where it's not feasible to run the tunnels or bridge, and all the big fleets send their trucks around free I-695 north side. Now all the commuters complain about the extra truck traffic,on the north side.

    Ruthless Thanks this.

Roads are shifty there anyway. I already pay too much in IFTA which should cover for all the road maintenance.
It was only 10 extra miles to go around.

    DougA Thanks this.

So you go around most of PA and never use the Indiana toll road I assume.
