So I have a few Motorola radius CM200 radios, along with 3 Motorola XU2600s. I'm looking for an inexpensive radio (considering BaoFeng UV-5R) that can communicate with both. The Radius and the XU2600s operate on different frequencies (469.5125 and 464.27500). Will I be able to program the UV-5R to both frequencies? (Not at the same time)And will the XU2600 squelch code work with the BaoFeng? (I can turn off if necessary) and by the way these are NOT commercial radios.

Even if you could, the BaoFeng radios are not type accepted, the deviation is junk, and it will cause co-channel interference with the adjoining channels. Unfortunately in the US you can buy any radio you want, it is up to the licensee to insure the equipment meets Type Acceptance, and to maintain the equipment, not the person selling it to you. If anyone complains or the FCC, you will get a letter with a cease immediately, and if you continue to use them the FCC will suspend your license. The reason I know so well, we have a hilltop with a building, we rent space out for transceivers, Government, Business, and HAM. We get complaints all the time about so and so being reported for using non-type accepted equipment, and the reason they are discovered, co-channel interference.
If I remember correctly those 2 frequencies are designated for fast food service, and have co-channels within a few k adjacent, if any of your neighbors are using the adjacent channels you will bother them, or if you use Channel 4 or 6 for other uses on the property. This is why businesses get over regulated, people trying to cut corners and buy cheap equipment.Neverready Thanks this. -
Didn't you ask this before?
