so my new t880 has a bendix installed, first i have ever seen one in a local milk hauling truck. it beeps every time i approach an intersection, why? im not terribly famaliar with the system, i remember when i worked briefly for werner it would beep one a lane departure, my truck doesnt do that. im wondering why he equipped it with bendix, insurance benefit? i dont really mind the system but im just not 100% how it works. it has a sensor mounted between my passenger steps and fuel tank.

Its a useless system. Pull the fuse and be done with it.

I just ignore it. It's weird going down i390 I swear that thing doesn't even go off when I've got a car next to me. If you use mirrors the thing seems pointless. I wonder how my boss even got talked into that option. Everything else about this truck is awesome. It pulls the heavy loads very well. Allot of power and well spec'd.

I just dont think bendix was worth the money

I think you hit on it in your first post. Insurance companies and Lawyers rule the industry......the entire Country for that matter!

I don’t know how you guys put up with all those baby sitting nanny nanny tattle tale systems. I wouldn’t do it.

Now, when R2D2 starts driving soon (supposedly) and I’m just along for the ride, I might be more agreeable.

Its something I can just ignore. these automatic braking systems, they are unacceptable. I consider automated transmissions to be another nanny device. My new truck has a manual. It doesn't have automatic emergency braking. Overall I'm happy, but if 84 had the Cummins x15 565hp I would have kept it. The paccar MX13 sounds like a jar of marbles and pulls like a wet noodle. 84 didn't have any nanny devices

I just wondered why this stupid thing beeps at intersections.

I seriously doubt it. Isn’t that hard chipped into the ECM?
