LOL. i got a 55 in 35 on that hill. i HAD slowed down BEFORE i hit the 35 zone. but since i was empty. i wasn't in the truck slow moving vehicle lane. the hill was packed with trucks and cars were riding my rear. i had nowhere to go to merge with the trucks on the downhill side and i couldn't just slow right down in the lane i was in. right next to the truck lane. my only option was to proceed to the open spot between trucks to merge.
i did what i felt was best for safety of all motorists around me. and the cop almost got hit TWICE as he was crossing all 3 lanes to pull me over.
date is still 6 weeks away so i don't know what the outcome or fine is yet. but ooida recommended me a lawyer and i've paid the service. just waiting for the pphone call now.
sadly. most drivers don't think to keep there brakes adjusted. so they burn them up on the downhill and end up in an accident.
there #1 excuse. there brakes didn't work. that's code for I'M TOO LAZY TO MAKE SURE MY BRAKES ARE IN ADJUSTMENT. -
That's how I got my speeding ticket, either slow down and jam up 5 miles of traffic behind me, or speed up and blend into a spot between 2 trucks and help everyone else have a nicer day. Poor choice, now a 'negligent operator'.

I go through there 2x a week west bound. It says all trucks stop at brake check and there is always a truck pulled over.. You can't fight that ticket seeing how 1 unless u really dont know how to read a big ### sign and always 5+ trucks stopped means one thing ....its a hint that u should too.
