Just got my first truck and it has a 21 day temp tag on it, it is fully insured but the IRP/IFTA response is saying 5-7 business days before my account will go active at the dmv....Is there any way I can run legal with the temp tag til my account goes active???

You get pulled into the scales. And they ask for your ifta?????

They can see it. But they want to see your paperwork anyways.

Ok, Co, Nm, and Or. have asked me.

Missouri looked at my IFTA paperwork about a month ago on a level 3 even.

if you need to run, you’ll have to look into buying a 72 hour temp IFTA/registration permit.
KS-$75 Mo$21.70 TN$135(Stupid third party ripoff) OK is high too, cannot buy that one at scales, big ticket, OOS until you get one.

I gotta question concerning not having ifta, would buying fuel in the states you are traveling thru suffice until your sticker and paperwork is up to date?

I’ve been asked for IFTA paperwork not only at every inspection I’ve have in Canada & USA but sometimes also when travelling through those State border / weigh stations on the west coast.

IRP and IFTA are two different things. You first get IRP (apportioned registration), and then you're green lit to get IFTA. You need both to cross state lines.

You can run right now intrastate (as long as you've satisfied your state requirements), you just can't cross state lines legally.

Is the temp tag just for bobtail or is it good to 80k?

It's good for 80k. And any extensions are as well. I had to extend my temp plates three or four times because IRP took so long.
