Google maps usually show road closure. I use it mostly in Chicago since I'm local.
-
You’re a local of Chicago? Can I answer a question I have about the construction area on I294?
-
regional. but i drive 294 sometimes
-
Oh ok. Do you know if the 45mph speed in the construction zone on I294 is photo enforced? Also, where are the cameras around there that track the speed? I’ve done a little research on it, but all I read about are state vans that will setup and clock u and mail u a ticket
-
no not photo. the van prob is there im sure sometimes. but i never seen it
-
Why even take the chance? The construction zones on 294 aren't very long anyways, With ISP cracking down on the move over law, just isn't worth it.4noReason Thanks this.
-
I gotcha. I didn’t know what the van was all about because I’ve never seen one either, but I couldn’t remember if coming through there if it was photo enforced or not because ppl come through there on 70 sometimes
4noReason Thanks this. -
I've never seen the photo van anywhere on 294, but I've seen it every day on 55 closer to st Louis. I've seen it on 90 around Barrington and out near Rockford. Not every construction site it photo enforced, but like @slim shady said, it's better to just slow down.
-
Absolutely, I agree with slowing down. I like to know the regulations and how places operate. I’m in Chicago weekly so it’s good to know. I couldn’t remember if this particular work zone had a photo enforced sign or not. I’m referring to the part of I294 going back towards Indiana.
