I agree, but that doesn't solve the 4 wheeler running into the Truck. Geez, this kind of reminds me of a slip and fall guy in a grocery story. Drops the cooking oil jug, it opens then he lays it in. I am hurt, I am hurt, the stockboy put that jug sticking out and I dropped it, now look at me? Oh it hurts... oooooo the pain. Doesn't fly. Again, my opinion. Have you thought about my 84 hour clock replacing the 70? Take care and happy travels, always.

Honestly get rid of the 70. Make the 14 a hard limit. If you are resting 10 and working 14. Should be fine. Otherwise I would just go with an 80 hour clock. That's plenty of time.

There is going to be more and more drivers delayed in these cities like pomona there. I guess they can have the company tell the CHP they will be needing an escort out of the city. Or we can prosecute the 4 wheelers like the one that ran into that trailer. All the planning in the world isn't going to save you in every situation. There is NO mention in the infrastructure plans for more parking, nothing has been said. Therefore we need to add another 14 to the 70 for total of 84... if neccassary, I understand you not wanting to drive, but it will make sense for you very very soon. In say 2-3 years. 40,000 immigrants a day are arriving. Not being vetted, and given green cards. I don't do Huge Cities anymore, or I mean I will not. Too many criminal gangs in those place too. There is a lot wrong with it to be honest. I don't want to get into that, you should already know that. The 70 isn't going to be enough. You can't see that? The midwestern drivers are going to have Big City problems too. You just aren't planning ahead. Remember you will be taking a 34 on the 8 day... that is mandatory in my plan. If this driver had another 2 hours that moron wouldn't have run into the back of his Trailer. He would have hit the retaining wall.

I've rarely ever done a 34. Twice honestly. 99% of loads can be done on recaps. Since most loads are assuming around 500 miles/day. If you want to run your clock out. That's a choice. Not a fault of the rules. Some people feel they make more money burning up their clock and grabbing a 34. Others of us feel it's working smarter not harder. Running off of recaps. Simply do you.

Not when you deliver in big cities. Been there done that. We are going in a loop here. Just like the legalizing pot subject. You will have to find out for yourself. Okay, Very well then, I guess run your recap then, you are used doing to that, and that will be fine until it isn't, no need to change. Happy Travels, and Thanks.

Someone here broke the math down and illustrated how pulling a 34 makes more money. He was concise with the explanation. It's the reason I gave up bothering to try with recaps.Team818 and Wasted Thyme Thank this.

In theory. But the small amount of extra money isn't worth the extra stress and fatigue. But assuming I kick this cancer in the rump. I'll give it a shot when I get back out there.nredfor88, Team818 and God prefers Diesels Thank this.

I've worked recaps three or four times, and resented it every time. It's not about money. I need a day off once a week.Team818 Thanks this.

You control the log book or ELD. When I got ready to be off I would log enough on duty not driving time that I would be out of hours when I wanted.

Love the backlash, that'll teach them to shut their pie hole, commenting on things they obviously have no clue about.
Diesel Dave Thanks this.
