Hi everyone I found a Columbia 2004 for a good price for the mileage 730K this truck was owned by ALLIED moving Co. What do you guys think is a high risk considering that might not been properly or poorly PM or considering that was used as a moving truck going for thousands of miles at a time had to be properly PM
and repaired
Thank you

What engine - specs - have you run the VIN on RIG DIG or at the dealer?
-
Is a Detroit with mileage 730k for know I didn't do any of that all is if is worth to do anything considering was used by Allied moving co.how they take care of their trucks please let me know
-
Sigh.
I'll guess it's a 14l Detroit, first year of EGR, with vpods and whatnot.
Run a RIGDIG on the vin for $45 it'll tell you past owners. Get a 3 pack, you'll be passing over this one, I'm sure.
Get an oil sample pulled. Full service lab.
Take it to a mechanic you trust, or look it over real good yourself if you know what to look for.
I looked at identical truck, 300k on rebuild at 700 - (!), $16k. Left it alone after asking same question on here.
Go 1-2 years earlier and save headaches. I don't care if it's $5000, it may be a nightmare. -
Thank you I thought 2004 is pre emission year but in this situation I know is a problem and maybe close to need an rebuild
-
Yeah - it might be a good idea to leave that one to somebody who didn't have the sense to ask good questions.
