Anyone leasing with CRST?? Training or running teams? A buddy accidentally filled out a app because it was through a outside source not CRST directly. We are both looking go make slightly better money but we know we won't make bank as a lease purchase driver. However! Is it worth doing to become a o/o?? Any CRST current lease drivers only please.

Don't do a lease purchase. Its a rip off. Do the hard work first and learn how trucking really works.
All you will be doing is paying the bills on their truck while they let you play pretend owner operator. Just work as a company driver.

    Annonymous and blairandgretchen Thank this.

Be a company driver if you like being told what loads to take, what routes to take, where to fuel, when you go home, how long you stay home, when to eat and when to ####.

But hey, at least you will be "learning how trucking really works."

If you are going to lease, do it from a third party that has no ties to the trucking company. and look for a company that doesnt take more than %15.
If you are thinking about crst malone, think twice. not much money there. their load board is not even close to ok. very limited loads, a lot of low balling. since they charge you for a lot of things. your overhead will be around 90cpm. and you ll have hard time finding loads paying over $1.6. they take %25 of the load as their cut. so your rate is $1.2 - $0.90. 30cpm is what you are looking for as your income.

Thats malone but van side is not better. if anything i would say worse (income wise). if you are gonna do team as a company driver, there are better options. If you need help, Ask chinatown.
