    Hi everybody!
I have Pete 387 (2010- 542k) with cummins isx on it. I was driving on 40 through AZ, all of a sudden I got my check engine light on and the pulling power was reduced. I ignored it and tried to get to the top of the hill. After a minute or tow I got a blinking red engine light telling me STOP THE ENGINE. So, I pulled off the road immediately and shut down the engine. I was 30 miles away from Pete dealer, so I crancked her back on and there was no engine light on. I got back on the road to get to the dealership. But everytime I pushed the gas the truck was shacking and had a hard time to run. so I slowed down until I got to the dealership. They're working on it but they don't have a final answer about the issue. They say it might be a cylinder not working properly! What do you think the issue might be? And how much do you think it will cost me?

    thanks in advance!

Best to wait and see what the shop tells you instead of getting 35 different versions of IT COULD BE THIS OR THAT

There are 100 things it could be, but engine failure (which I define as an internal engine part breaking or wearing out) is not high on the list

it really could be anything it would be impossible for any of us on the forum to diagnose a problem like you're having. one thing I can tell you is if you took it to a dealer they are most likely going to bend you over and it's going to be very expensive no matter how minor or major the problem might be

Probably not engine failure. Keep us advised, and good luck.

It would have stored the codes...should not take long to figure it out.
My first thought would be clogged DPF system but like everyone says.....just guessing.

I think it has something to do with aliens, global warming, the illuminatti, chemtrails, the CIA, chemicals in the wonder bread, Bush, and Obama, but I'm just guessing

It's more than likely a failure in a component or components to function in an appropriate manner.
