I went Peak final, and ditched the SCA filter for a blank. May change coolant every 150-200k and filter just . . . because I have too much time to mess with things.

have many miles you have on engine after inframe? what coolant do you have now ? conventional green or ELC?
If you have ELC (red or yellow) you can eliminate the filter if you want. I would not eliminate the filter. if you have ELC coolant you need plain filter( on SCA chemicals inside, that filter just keep coolant clean). Now if you have conventional coolant and the filter that maintain sca level don't remove the filter. you will have cavitation problems later. If you have conventional coolant and lot of miles don't change the coolant to ELC because you will have sunk liner in short period or some head gasket issues. That's always happen when people change coolant to ELC at high engine miles.

I have always used the green type, walmart brand. decided to keep the filter. as of last week I just put the type that says to change every 1000,000 miles. thanks for all the informative info. I have 220,000 on inframe 1.6 mil total miles.

No filter, OAT coolant, no problems here. Not a 'roit though but just a itty bitty kitty.

I always run a coolant filter . I just run Delo ELC .The premixed stuff straight out of the jug.

Change out the coolant every 4 years .

Same here, I use a blank filter and SCA and check the coolant with CAT test strips every oil change. I change the coolant every year, sometimes more often. The block doesn't show any signs of electrolysis which is pretty good after all these years.
