today our 99 pete shutdown on idle after unhooking the trailer. Checked everything if there was low coolant or something that could be the cause, found nothing. The ecm is getting power, the battery lines are all on and not corroded, but the truck is not getting any power inside, tried plugging in a computer but no power and also sattelites not working. What should i look at so i can start it and take it to the mechanics. Thanks

Could be the Qualcomm link if it's hard wired.
    Bad grounds?

What do you mean the ‘truck is not getting power inside’ - ?

    You check the breakers?

Far left dash panel. Above the cigarette pack cubby. behind that panel is the master breaker. All cab power goes through it. Dash lights, power windows, even the wipers.

Oxbow, Peterbiltt and blairandgretchen Thank this.

So, no read at the J plug on the inside , may be grit or corroded ECM connectors - what engine/ECM?

Remove plugs, check, blow out with compressed air, maybe contact cleaner -

Checked fuel filters? Replace, fill with fuel. Last resort is ether.

Detroit S60 - there’s 2 sensors, crank and cam - one will prevent starting, it’ll be cranking but not sending a signal to fuel injectors. I replaced both of mine here recently after same issue.

    Start with filters.

The big ### breaker that looks like a ford solenoid. If i remember right its the only thing behind that panel besides wiring harness.

Yes - my one went bad, takes out fan, wipers, speedo, AC, blower motor, volt guage. It was a slow death though, not immediate like this chap.

Mine was immediate. Cost me a 600 dollar tow bill when it quit on 90 going through Wisconsin. This was after detroit replaced the ecm, which was after they replaced the throttle control sensor on the pedal.
