sittin' at the truck stop
waitin' on the call
just how long it's gonna take
for a load to haul.

Watchin' the big trucks
every model and make
some are shinin' full of chrome
makes you do a double take.

"uh-oh, he's backin' up"
comes over the cb
all the things all night long
it's amazing what you see.

Diesel fuel and high priced food
catchin' a bite to eat
to sit in the cab and watch it all
from the drivers seat.

Still the phone aint a ringin'
we're passin' time away
will it be late tonight
or wait another day?

On the puter or catchin' a flick
maybe washin' the truck
what ever you do to pass the time
the lot is where we're stuck.

There's lots to the lifestyle
in the truckin' world
it's not so bad or lonely
when you got a truckin' girl

talk about life and all your dreams
mile marker sticks
the WAY to drive the big trucks
and learnin' all the tricks

seein' sights you'de never believe
late nights on the road
many wrecks and tractor fires
from rushin' this heavy load

missin' out on lifes moments
trying to make a buck
keeping all these 18 wheels
movin' on your truck

pull the curtains and lay back down
tryin' to kill more time
waitin'on the phone to ring
to hear what load is mine.

So when you see a trucker
and he's passin you by
wave or give a big thumbs up
cuz it's for you that he drives.
