I posted a last week about an accident... after meeting with safety they said it was not a dot recordable.. police got called but just done an information exchange paper no police report and no citations... so with it not being a recordable and no citations or police report then it shouldn't be on my dac report right?
Dot non recordable

Some companies will add it. Some companies will not.u4icwargasm, flood and BennysPennys Thank this. -
Good thing that wasn’t a DOT accident. Those can really hurt your employment chances.

To be a DOT reportable accident one of three conditions must be met:
- Fatality;
- Bodily injury in which that person receives immediate medical attention away from the scene of the accident; or
- At least one of the vehicles involved in the accident had to be towed from the scene.

Tell DAC to suck your know whats. Thats just some fugazi database that companies use to screw over drivers and suppress wages.
86scotty and u4icwargasm Thank this. -
Anything on DAC can be disputed by the driver and will be documented, FYI

I feel like companies actually like the idea of the situation that you’re in original poster. They don’t want you to go out and really smash something up or kill somebody or something serious but they actually like it when you get in a little fender bender etc. why? Because you really didn’t cost then anything but they feel like they own you to a point. Many companies will tell you to pay for the damages and still hold it against you, letting you know “nobody else might hire you right now for the next 2 to 3 years so you might as well stick around“.
it’s a real thing in this industry and it needs to stop! If I’m your employee and I have a mishap and I pay for it out of my own pocket that should be the end of it. If you as a company wanna keep me around then it should be over with if it’s not a reportable DOT accident and I paid for it.u4icwargasm and silverspur Thank this. -
Ask your safety department this question via email so you have it in writing.
