Just your thoughts on the situation please.

Went in for my annual DOT physical. In 2021 I had a mild heart attack and had an angioplasty with three stents fitted in my coronary arteries. After that, I went in with all my documents 1 month later and they gave me a 1-year medical card. Went in yesterday for renewal with all required documents and test results. Because of my condition, I can only get a one-year medical card. So, I fill out the health questioner honestly, have letter from cardiologist with approved to work driving with no restrictions, stress test results, and prescription list.
Dr does a very limited exam without really examining the paperwork and clears me with a new 2 YEAR medical card. The Dr was very affable and friendly, but I don't think she was very up to date on the specifics of a DOT physical or the regulations. She told me her background was in cancer surgery and she was at the clinic until another job in her specialty field opened up.
I just went to the DMV, they put the card into the system, and then I sent the paperwork to my employer.

Should I just go on and not resolve the issue or can this backfire down the road. Im thinking of going for another physical, so I stay legal. If some health issue happens behind the wheel, and there is some catastrophic event, will I be liable, or the physician?

    Thanks

I am looking into this right now. I could only hope that my outcome would be half as good

go go go!! there is no liability on your part but hers.

On a side note, there doesn't really seem to be any consistency with the Doctors or PA's regarding physical standards. In my 15 years professional driving, and at least 20 physicals, I would encounter some very strict medical personal, and then some that would take the basic vitals, look me over, and say you look healthy, the sign my card for two years.
