I've gotta say my favorite driving experience is driving for a Drum and Bugle Corps. It's a bit like a high end marching band. The summer tour is from the end of June to the middle of August. Pay is $200-300 a day. You get paid whether you drive or not. You usually drive five nights a week with an average of 5 hours. It's a bit of a vacation from normal truck driving. Most corps have 5 semi trucks and 5 buses. One of the trailers is a food truck so all your meals are taken care of. If you've ever been involved in the arts it's a really fun experience.
It's a good gig for someone retired or looking for a break from their normal driving job.

It's never occurred to me that a Drum & Bugle Corps would need truck drivers. I loved my time in my high school marching band but ran out of talent long before I had dreams of being in a traveling Drum & Bugle Corp.

I played in one for a brief time in high school and don't remember them having anywhere near that much stuff to haul around. But boy were they loud, everything seemed to start at 11 with them.
