Back when I drove dumps, we used to 'spank' the tails a few times to dislodge the remaining load and the push the pto valve in to lower it as we drove out of the lot. One day a guy didn't push his valve in all the way, and the bed came down too slowly to miss the power lines across the road.
It was an electrifying day, amongst others.

Another day we were building the submarine piers in Virginia Beach Va. - and it was so muddy that you had to sort of crawl along the road with your tail sliding to the center, while drivers coming at you had the same problems, and sometimes you'd even hit tailgates because you couldn't pull out, but that was normal for that job.
Anyway, this little white guy was the yard joker. We had to walk in the tire tracks in the deep mud to get to the portable johns, black, icky, stinky, seabed mud. One driver, an older black guy, kinda heavy, made his way to the john and this joker put two cherrybombs into the vent stack of the hut, and ran off. There was a "BUH!" and the door flew open, and the guy fell face first in the mud with his pants around his legs, paper and crap all over his butt.
He went to the parking lot and came back with a .45 looking all over, but we never saw the white dude again. I kinda wanted him to catch the guy.

I'll bet that woke him up. And I bet he won't ever do it again. And I'll bet he will never have a chance to do it again with the same company.:biggrin_25512:

You really have to wonder if there is ANY intelligent life around sometimes. I'd like to know WHY the driver in this first article was in and out of his truck so many times. More importantly, I'd like to know HOW he is still alive! He has managed to duck a "Darwin Award."

What a retard. I pull away from the pile, drop my lift lever and I don't move until the bed is on the frame. I've driven some ratty POS's that took 5 mins to drop the bed on but still I sit. Seen too many trucks go over because of material stuck around the dog house they didn't know was there, not to mention its bad for the cylinder.
