Lol....
48k pounds.
I guess that's the wrong way to put it since the older guys have been hauling that for decades

You can make it work, if you can fit in it.NYCgorilla Thanks this.

With our old cab overs and 40’ steel trailer empty weight around 28,000
Would load 60 to 70k of oilfield casing.
I owned a 72 r model single screw, not much room inside.NYCgorilla Thanks this. -
Out of curiosity, what do people mean by single screw? I've seen that term multiple times
-
There's a lot to take into consideration. Running it every day will probably beat you up, probably has the old camelback suspension. Looks like a heavy truck too, considering the metal vs aluminum cab plus the dayton wheels. If you're not worried about the weight or the ride it's definitely feasibleNYCgorilla Thanks this.

Any guesses on what that tractor with the sleeper would weigh?
-
Single drive axle tractor.
I pull a 48’ liftgate trailer with one. -
Either one of those can certainly get the job done. Bear in mind though that those mechanical engines are not known for fuel economy. If that’s not a concern, the sleeper might be the way to go. It will depend on the hauling you want to do, who you’re are hauling for, and their customer base.
The Superdog looks like a good truck, but being a daycab it would limit you a bit.NYCgorilla Thanks this. -
If I had to guess I'd say 33-34k with a standard 48' spread but I could be way off. Looks like it only has 80 gal fuel tanksNYCgorilla Thanks this.
