Bad idea...while there may be some that are mature enough to handle it, vast majority would not..most can barely operate a car safely...
Is there really that big a difference in maturity between an 18 and 21 year old? I would say it was until mid 20's for me and most people I knew back then to actually "grow up". That said, simple lack of driving experience will be a huge factor in more wrecks.
The mega carriers are going to keep pushing and paying lobbyists until they finally make it happen. They are running out of fresh meat for the grinder and teenagers is where they think they will get it. When it happens, and it will. Watch the insurance rates skyrocket. How many will be put out of business because of It?
Well i think its a good idea to get some young people in this industry. Thats what trucking needs , is young blood.
It’s a good lawsuit for discrimination against age, Besides, I started driving at 14, cdl at 18, OTR at 23 but from 18-23 I couldn’t leave the state, you know what changes from state to state? Nothing, it’s all blacktop. 19 years later I realize I should’ve been a lawyer, maybe I’d be a millionaire, as it stand I’m a million dollars short of being a millionaire.
