Don't know the legality of it all but it does sound like they did you a favor.
waveform and Skydivedavec Thank this. -
Ditto. I'd send them a thank you card and then move up to the next gig. Sounds like they did you a favor. Sounds too like they don't deserve a 'company man.' Just wave bye bye at them in your rear view mirror!waveform Thanks this.

Unless your name is Donald Sterling.waveform Thanks this.

It is generally accepted that one can record any conversation of which they are a party. As a matter of termination it is irrelevant. Any employee can be terminated for no reason.
If they are a party to an employment contract their only recourse is seeking redress through the courts.waveform Thanks this. -

Yes, but when you go shopping or anywhere that has survalience equipment in use there is always some sort of warning posted in a clearly marked and see able place. And if someone didn't want to be under their survalience than I guess they would shop or go somewhere else.waveform and crappiejunkie Thank this.

A big mouth cop got me fired once from a landscaping and contruction company.I drove a dump trk and was picking up some rock from s house getting tore down, cop stopped me weighed me I was over as I already knew it.I told him blame that on my boss he told me to go with it and he would pay the overweight ticket..Well he told Kevin what I said and then some.I called the police force they connected me to him I chewed his ### up oneside and down the other.Told him to start doing your job and keep your mouth shut.I filled for unemployment and got that.Kevin had no reasonable cause for firing me.

This reminds me of Abe,everybody has to know who he is,lol.Anyway he recorded a conversation he had with his dispatcher and posted it on youtube for the world to see and hear.So like someone said I think it varies from state to state.
waveform Thanks this. -
I asked a lawyer on a team , he said I can nail this company to the wall for what they did.
Though I think I'm going to disregard this case because it could harm future prospects in the fuel industry. My driving record is impeccable. They lost a good worker. All the customers liked me. I was offered a job by one of their customers..lol hauling flatbed equipment local. I had one of the most difficult routes and I always finished my work. But not always on time because the server went down almost every night in my truck.
They were also discriminating against me. Because I was told that everyone has to start at the bottom. And they hired two new guys who were filling tanks which are the easy jobs. My employer put them on the tanks because they were not fast enough to do the wet hosing jobs. They also never gave me my uniform even after three months so I had to wash the same uniform everyday. ....the uniform that the last guy who quit gave me. My washing machine was starting to smell like gas. I'm so glad I'm out of this place. I can write a book about them.
@sazook. Thanks for that link by the way.
I've never posted anything about my company here other then last night. And I never post company names as I don't want to get hit with slander.
If someone were to do that, it would be wise to use something like Tor
Well according to the Legal team I talked to. they have to tell you in a direct phone interaction because there is an expectation. Just as another member here mentioned. When you call most (professional places following the law) will tell you, "You are being recorded for quality assurance". That's to protect their tail. The other thing is, those recordings are lawfully ok to be used for quality control in running that particular establishment, but can NOT be used outside to slander a client. I am the customer and their organization is a separate entity under a different corporate license then my employer.
Clinton is a piece of work, I always knew that. He's the guy behind the community reinvestment act that forced the banks to issue loans to people who didn't quality for home loans. And is also the guy behind the Glass Steagall act. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glass–Steagall_LegislationLast edited: Sep 20, 2014
