If you're right. Then it's his problem for not being ready to go after his 34 was over. Anyone in this business should know that loads can be ready anytime of the day. Thus when your 34 is up. If they need you. They are going to dispatch you.
Hours?!?!

No.
If OP didn't have an agreement before hand sure. It's still foolish to break up a set routine simply because they can.
It's a classic example of office workers not giving a ####. It's really not hard to keep a guy a consistent schedule, most places are just too lazy to put in the effort.
If I always got dispatched after 4pm I'd stay up so I could sleep during the day and be ready to run at the usual time. Like any sane person would assume.
If I always got dispatched at 6am, I would make sure to sleep the night before.skyviper73, alds and dwells40 Thank this. -
As most people would plan for but anyone who has been in this industry for more than a few weeks, knows that things dont always go as planned in the real world, especially in trucking. Things happen. Sometimes we have to go with the flow. The issue (as far as I see) is that its not something to get bent out of shape about ordinarily .... one time. I mean the OP made this to be out to be a real issue. Its not. So, he got called out early.... geez! If this screwed up his life, he don't need to be in this business. There are much worse things than this. It messed up his sleep habit? One day? What's going to happen when there's a flat tire or getting stuck at a shipper/receiver for 6 hrs? OH MY GOD!! Call the FBI, we have a crisis!snowlauncher, Pamela1990, REO6205 and 5 others Thank this.

You're right I wouldn't lose my temper over it, but I would sleep till I felt good enough to get rolling.
I don't like the idea of guys running around bleary eyed trying to stay awake. It's just bad juju.
Ain't no freight on the planet worth someone's life.skyviper73 and Pamela1990 Thank this. -
So, from what the OP stated, and the responses, the OP was not ready to go when his reset was completed?
Pamela1990 Thanks this. -
Clearly you should’ve leased on with BYOB&CBD instead. Lesson learned.

Leave out when you’re darn good and ready and not one second before! Right?

Yeah, many, many moons ago when I was in my early twenties. I worked for a water damage/ mold remediation company. We were on call all week and every other weekend any time of day or night. We were called in to work at crazy hours all the time so having to go in a little early doesn't seem all that bad to me.
