Yes, but you don't want to buy truck build 2001 ($10K) with done overhaul ($15K) for $25K that truck can run next 1M miles
You going to get 2006 Freight on 800K miles for $19K (to run next 150K miles)
Right ?

Im with bayou..I could honestly state that in a 7 day week done gross 9k, never two weeks in a row, usually you banged out big money and end up in Kalispell or Miami. so the next week is more like 5k gross. -
I see the mileage written on the RO, 125,000....
That's all.
It's basically "brand new".
I'm standing there thinking, "sucks to the owner of that friggin thing"
Parts guy comes back with the stuff, lots of boxes, big boxes, little boxes, bags with sensors in them...
"Wow, how much is all that stuff???", I ask
"Who cares?", the mech says, "It's under warranty"
I can't believe what I've just heard.
"I care, cause I own a truck, and costs are a big deal....warranties don't last forever, and a truck needing extensive repairs with that low of a mileage figure are a pretty big deal...but I guess it's nice if you earn your living towing them around and fixing them when they break down..."
He gives me a dirty look, grabs his parts and walks back to the truck he's "fixing".
Welcome to the future, this is how the government "creates" jobs.
What a deal.Dna Mach Thanks this. -
I wouldn't believe he made that much hauling flyash or dry bulk cement. A company driver would probably make more than an 0/0 hauling that stuff.
-
And this is where you ask:
" how many miles did you drive to gross that?"
If the owner drove 4000 miles averaging 2.25$ per running mile, then it's doable.
Even more realistic if he averages 3$ per mile and runs 3000 miles a week.
If he tells you the truth then His net is around 3000 a week after paying taxes and putting money away to maintenance fund and such. -
9k net a week is amazing. I thought 5k was great but 9 is excellent. Before I forget what's the name of the shipper he pulls that freight for..
