So I bought a 42 foot flatbed trailer for dirt cheap. After pulling it home I realized there is no identification plate. Not even a sticker with the manufacturer on it. After doing some sanding I found what I believe to be a model number on the front right side that is indented into the trailer. The number is
    TR146749.
It has budd wheels and seems to be an older trailer.

I am hoping to figure out the manufacturer and possibly put a new id plate on it if that’s a thing.

    Anyone recognize the number?

JMO, I think a better option than trying for a new I.D. Plate would be the scrap yard. You will likely have a serious issue getting it inspected

Obviously you didn’t get a title otherwise you would know who the manufacturer is
I hope they paid you money to haul it away that’s the only way you got it dirt cheap because it’s junk
You best take @Sons Hero advice and scrap it cause it’s not worth spending any amount of money on

What do the axles and hubcaps look like? Some of those old trailers used proprietary axles so it may help you i.d. it. I'm guessing the p.o. didn't have any idea either?

With the limited photos I'm saying mid 70's Fruehauf with the angled front corners. I would need to see more pics to be sure. Hubs help, but Fruehauf axles were avaliable under more than their own trailers. And they were not the only ones with screw on hub caps.

Why not just get a certified weight and get a plate from BMV, for assembled trailer? No title is needed.
