Hey guys, so I drove cross country with my friend, he was driving my car and I saw a “photo enforced” sign in a work zone and he was speeding through, I didn’t see any cameras but who knows, I’ve been stressing about it all week, I was doing research and it said it’s a civil infraction, but then today I looked again and now I’m seeing it’s a court appearance and possible license suspension? Like I said I didn’t see a camera, but half the time I was asleep in the passenger seat so who knows how many more he went through. I’m legit losing sleep over this, I try very hard to always drive at or below the speed limit to protect my perfect record and now I feel like it’s at risk and I didn’t even do anything.

    Come on,

After 11yrs you don't know it's all a smoke & mirrors bit? All bark, but no bite? Guess the psychology tricks worked this time & you weren't even driving! Psyche! LOL

Relax & get back to life. You have no worries.

    Peace ✌️

If it is a photo enforced worked zone, you will see a white van sitting right after the electric sign that shows work zone speed. In Illinois they only do "photo enforcement" in active work zones...

Personally I've only seen them using the white van on I70 east of Effingham and I-72 around Jacksonville. Reading a news story a couple months ago that stated all of the work zone cameras are in the central/southern part of the state, eventually they may start doing it in Chicagoland.

You better slow down and inform your buddy to do the same. Work zone enforcement is no joke, and you aren't going to see the camera. Why, one is looking at you right now,,. Sometimes, they will capture the license plate, and MAIL you the citation, no matter who is driving, your plate, your fine. In 2022, sadly, 891 workers were killed in construction zone accidents, and all of them are from people driving too fast.

Relax. Camera tickets go to the registered owner of the car and it will only be a fine, and that’s only if a camera car was even present.

MOST of the work zones with the photo enforcement signs are NOT actually taking pictures. I drove like each work zone was photo enforced anyway. It's cheaper.

In Illinois, it’s going to be white Ford Transit Connects, Dodge Promasters, and there might be a few old Ford E-150 vans still around. They will have an LED speed limit sign stuck to the back of them and a boom with cameras. They’re very obvious, when you see them. If you don’t see them, there are no cameras.

Construction zone means floor it, right?
Cut everyone off and be first through the orange barrels.

Aren’t the barrels the start snd finish line? I believe Ricky Bobby said it best ‘if your not first your last’.
