My dispatcher/owner of the company says I can grab 3 produce picks tonight (Salinas, Gonzales, San Juan Batista) and be in St Cloud MN by 4 AM Tuesday morning. When Ieave 3rd pick I will only have about 4 hours left on my 14, but fresh off of a reset. I say with weather, grades, traffic, and delays from 3 produce shippers that he is out of his gourd. Opinions?
Is dispatch/owner bonkers?

You'll have 3 days to get to MN,sounds like more then enough time to me..
-
It's 2100 miles. Donner pass, single screw tractor, and I will burn up friday clock getting the picks. Probably really start the trip Saturday 3-4 pm or so. I still think weather is the big fickle finger of fate.
-
If you feel you're not going to make it there by tues you better call your boss. and give him a heads up.
-
Yep. Can be done. And the roads will be wide-open Christmas day.
Just stick to your guns on calling the weather. That is your legal right as a driver.Rusty Trawler, Pintlehook and pattyj Thank this. -
None of us know how the weather will be. We are all at the mercy of the Gods. As you know if Zeus gets upset he throws lightning bolts at the other Gods. Pegasus sometimes pulls Apollo's chariot too close to the earth (which causes global warming). Zephyros, my favorite, has a warm, mild West wind which makes a trip wonderful.
As you see from the list below there is just no way we as mortals can do anything to figure out the weather.
There are way too many Gods to list. Here is a clip from Wiki

Wolly Rhino,
Many thanks. You're the man! You've just given me a lot of excuses for being late for delivery. WoooHooo! -
It depends on how fast your truck goes, paper or elog, and how screwed up the roads get. They are expecting an ice storm thru southern MN over Christmas.
Paper logs, acceptable weather most of the way and a 70+ mph truck, plenty of time.
Elog, crappy weather and a slow truck...not likely.
I pulled a machinery load from Oldsmar FL to Phoenix AZ. Left Weds afternoon, was delivering Friday afternoon. But I had an ungoverned truck, paper logs and a southern route...the only delay I had was waiting on the install crew to arrive to unload.
