    Just a couple thoughts.

    first off, devastated?

really with the number of carriers out in the country, one mega crap company doesn’t matter.

second is it was difficult reading your condensed novel, and it took me a few minutes to read it a couple times to get it all digested, just a thought, not a criticism.

third and more important, like other industries, there are paid recruiters and most of the time they are just plain sh****! A few companies specialize in specific industries and no matter what, they are clueless to begin with … all you are is a number to them to produce a commission.

Fourth is this little fact, there are recruiters that solicit work without people wanting them. This week alone I wasted my time with some ****** on the phone who insisted I hear how she can improve my turnover numbers, which are very low and don’t need improving, she just didn’t get it and I just disconnected the call after 10 minutes of me repeating myself. With that I’ve dealt with a number of them who “advised” me to get a website for people to fill out apps or an app (which are usually boiler plate crap from some back water rural Indian guy making a fast buck). Nevertheless, if you got to load an app on your phone to fill an application out, it is a place NOT to work for. Run away from that company.

fifth just apply. If they want a resume, then send them one but just apply. There are thousands of companies out there looking for truck drivers, you could be working local and making good coin if you seek out these companies.

Every trucking job I have ever gotten has required a 10 year work history that can be verified... I believe it is a federal requirement, because driving truck is a safety sensative position.

From the recruiters position you submitted a blank work history... These folks handle hundreds of these applicaions a week, they dont care about you. Its easier and pays better to drop ones like yourself and move onto someone with a more traditional work history. Often times recruiters get incentive pay for getting X number of hires.

Don’t worry - you’ll get used to it. Don’t get OBSESSED with working for one company. Different companies have different hangups about their hiring criteria. You picked a company that was stricter than most on work history. Tenstreet lets you enter all your information ONCE and then apply for hundreds of driving jobs with a click of your mouse. Get the app or go to the website - either way you will have a driving job with less effort than it took to write the novel in your original post.

I’ve turned hundreds of thousands of miles more than you have without a ticket or an accident and there are companies that won’t hire me! Get over it and drive on!

Simple Man, you can simplify your typing and make it easier to read. Capitalize the first letter of the sentence and any proper names. Capitalization of the beginning of every word is too much work. No need to be working that hard, friend.

Yes I Understand....I Have 5 Signed Letters Verifying My Last 10 years work history ....she should of asked me for them.....made some phone calls to verify... done deal.....She didn't take the time to do her job....So your saying if i had the last 10 year work history working at walmart stocking shelves or a door greeter that would qualify me as a safe CMV operator ?...My Perfect DMV record shows my safe driving record at 57 years old and my schooling passing everything 1st attempt...thank you for your response Cattleman84

Yes I knowbits frustrating... Like I said, they dont care. Its easier and faster for them to just forget about you and move on to the next applicant... They dont want to take the extra time to make phone calls and read letter verifying employment history... They want cookie cutter work history that they can plug into some computer program so they can be done with you and add a hire to thier list. Like @Ridgeline said... If you cant get someone to talk to you on the phone or visit face to face in person... You dont want to work there.

The 10 year requirement is only for CDL jobs. non-CDL jobs is 3. (So the first employer needs 3, every employer afterwards needs the full 10)
Also, they only need to make an attempt to verify employment. They don't need to actually succeed. Plus, while not a legal avenue, it tends to satisfy the DOT auditors, a lot of companies will take tax filings as proof.

I had an abysmal work history when I got my CDL... unemployed and homeless for the past 2 years and no verifiable employment for the prior 5 years before that, yet I got hired off the first app I put in. So I wonder if you're better off just listing yourself as unemployed. Then maybe there's nothing to verify, thus making it an easier app for the paper pushers to process.
