Typically it means they will give you no less than that amount. Supposed to help for those slow weeks when the miles don’t add up.
But there is usually some fine print involved. Like you have to be on time to every appointment, no accidents, no failed inspections, etc. depends on the company of course, but that is how I have always understood it.Oldironfan Thanks this. -
It means you will get a minimum pay guaranteed.

if i remember it correctly Covenant would offer mininum pay but their method is: let say they give you 800 per week as the mininum. week 1: you make 600, they will add 200. week 2: you make 1300, they will subtract 200 from last week. sound like a good deal but the mininum is low, they dont really lose any money. but not sure how other companies do it

KB transportation is now $1,250 a week guarantee I believe.

Some love it, some hate it, but from what I have seen if you run hard and smart you always make more but if you need micro managing you will hate it.

Its become popular because of the way the OTR industry is structured with people wanting a regular paycheck akin to a salaried job.
Most "guarentee/minimum pay" companies have BS policy like poster mentioned above, taking from surplus to make up for deficiency.
A real minimum pay would not be contingent on multiple disqualifying factors, not take from your surplus to cover the deficiency, & would be prorated hourly for time coming from/going home.
A real minimum guarantee means regardless of weekly performance, having done everything legally within your ability, you will make that number stated as your paycheck - minimum.
Some companies will say you cannot make over that according to their own policies because its such a "great" deal for you the driver.
Its only great compared to the next worse thing; if you are not grossing at least $1500/week as a W2 OTR driver with benefits, look elsewhere as experience permits.
In this current drivers market, there is no reason to appeal to the lowest common denominator.Omega7777 Thanks this. -
What type of driving pays up to $1500 a week? Not OTR that I can promise.
