What was meant to be a comfortable ride to Hungary ended up bieing experienced as a living hell. It was one of those known weeks where everything just seems to go wrong, well it didn't seem like everything went wrong, it just did.

    Sunday:
I reported at the office first thing in the morning, 5:00AM that is. Had a entire trailer full of electrical devices, all meant for one transportation company in Hungary. Well, looks like an easy ride to me, never had any trouble with Hungary, I was always welcomed in a friendly atmosphere there. Well, after loading it all up and receiving the necessary paperwork I started off at 8:00AM which is quite early. Seen that this freight had no further speed priority I could take all time I needed, I ended up somewhere near Stuttgart where I knew an absolutely awesome restaurant.

    Monday:
Fired up my best friend around 9AM. Did my round around the truck and noticed that there was a change at the backside of my trailer, although I could not exactly come up with what exactly was changed. And because I do not start driving until I am absolutely confident that everything is allright I went back in the cab and made myself some strong coffee, I bet that cup made cows fly. Well, now awakened a little bit I once again went to look for what I was missing, well I'll be ######, I swear I had light stripes around the back. I backed into the parking spot the last night because I am bothered by coolers, or reefers as you Americans call them.
It was quite a tiny spot to back in to, even if I was 100% confident I had not hit anything (Thanks to my christmas tree truck I can see everything that is going on around the truck, even at midnight if necessary) I still went to look for damage, I remembered the truck that was next to me because it was from a company an uncle of mine used to work for, so if I had made any damage Id still be able to call their office and report it to them. Would be unfair for the driver to get the blame if something is my fault. But hey, no damage to be seen to the naked eye. Now rushing with adrenalin about what the #### exactly happened I once again looked at the place the light stripes used to be, and that got people looking quite odd, someone just took the time to screw them off.

Well, at least now I had an explanation about how I could possible miss light stripes, even if I kept on wondering how they found the time to climb up a #### ladder to remove them. So I called the office to notify them about the lost light stripes. An ok sign was given, they would be replaced at return. I managed to unload the electrical cargo at the destination that day, receive the instructions about the location of the cargo I'd bring along back, and time for a good nights sleep.

    Tuesday:
The shippers locations was not too far away, just a few kilometres, 100 or so. The only problem was, I had to wait 24 hours until it was ready. So I checked the interwebz for any restaurants with availability to park my best friend, None. So I drove as far as I could to the desired location, and went onto a truck parking, 10 kilometres of the location I was supposed to be in (now) 22 hours. Took a meal (Hungarian food is bad, I swear) and started watching some DVDs in the cab. After a few hours of boredom I decided to take a nice shower, as I realised I had not done that the day before( I hate it when your so busy in the evening you just plain forget it) Well, this shower was as clean as it possible could be, so all my cleaning equipment I always bring along wasn't necessary. And due to boredom I decided to shower for like an hour.

    #### that feels great, being as handsome as a man probably could be I returned to my truck just to find a reefer parked next to it, parking spot was nearly empty, and he just had to park it right next to my truck. Oh well, it was a Dutch driver and some company is always appreciated at times of boredom. So I knocked on his door(He was watching a DVD so don't think I'm one of those morons who just starts knocking not concerned if someone is asleep or not) and we chatted for a while and found out we did the same training course, well after exchanging experiences for a while and watching a DVD I decided Id go for a good nights sleep. He had no cargo in his truck so he decided just to put it right next to me when he saw that I was a Dutchy as well. Bieing together just feels safe in countries as Hungary.

    Wednesday:
Drove to the company early in the morning, first dog who sees the meat is most likely the one to grab it I thought. Well, that wasn't the case, the cargo wasn't in yet. But #### this was one big company. So after a few hours they called me in, I had to park my friend onto the smallest dock mankind has ever seen, well no problem most of you would say. The only problem was there was barely any space in front of my truck, this dock was obviously made for trucks without a trailer.

After 5 minutes of backing and going forward( I made like 10 cm progress in each try :biggrin_2557:) I was in the right spot, and went into the companies property and started loading everything in properly (Big companies just never do this the way I want them too) but after the second or third pallet I heard a loud bang and the trailer went up for a few milliseconds, so I got my ### out of that trailer as quick as I possible could and ran outside to see what was going on, while still thinking to myself this is one odd time to have a collapsing tire. Once outside I think my skin it's colour went quite pale I guess, another backing truck had hit my trailer not once, but twice. there was little damage at the rear end (That's why a collapsed tire came up in my mind first) and the mid section of the trailer was well, Gone. That must've happened while I was running outside to see what was happening. This youngster steps out of the vehicle, looking like a #### tomato, almost begging me not to hurt him.

I could commit a murder at that moment, but I am not the kind of person for that, so I chilled down the kid, asked him to call his boss to report what he had done, and I would do the same thing. Took his keys tho because you never know with foreign companies, they may be avoiding insurance companies and his trailer was barely damaged.
Called my boss, and he either fainted or went out cursing somewhere after I told him, because mid-conversation he passed the telephone to the dispatcher. Which told me to drop the load there, and they would send another truck to pick it up as fast as possible. After arguing with him for a while about the trailer I decided just to give him what ever the hell he wanted and bring the trailer home myself. I would just take the smaller roads, because I refuse to drive 90 kilometres per hour with a packed up trailer which is bent at least 5 degrees.

Well, I don't know if any of you have ever driven a bent trailer over unstable roads, but it took me 2,5 days to get home. The kid got fired from his job as i have heard because he had been smoking some sort of drug, the load got home before I did. and the trailer is now used as extra storage for lawnmowers and other tools.

So Imagine this: First you call your boss your light stripes have been stolen of, and 2 days later you have to call him that some kid wrecked the entire trailer. #### I almost #### my pants once I arrived at the company.

This story is part fictional and part real. The damages done to the trailer are real, a part of the story has been made up to fill space, and I like to type ####loads of text. I still have my job, a new trailer and new light stripes.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed it and with kind regards,
