Hello everyone! The wife and I have finally purchased our first truck and are slowly making our way into this side of the business. Not ready yet to make the full plunge into our own authority. Still too new with too many questions. For now, we’ll be leasing onto a company we’ve driven for in the past and one we trust. There are better paying companies out there I know, but these folks are fair and honest, and keep us running hard. So our questions are, what should be our next steps? We’ll be running under their plates using their discounts for bobtail insurance, fuel and such. What should the next logical hurdle be for us? DOT number? Appreciative of all the great info we’ve found on here!
Many thanks!
New owners, next steps?

For real. They’re not kidding. We beat this question down over and over again. And there are archives of info on here. So for guys to stop, and re-explain this vague question tends to be a vocabulary word, monotonous.
But anyways, tell us where your leased onto for starters.Crude Truckin', Midwest Trucker and blairandgretchen Thank this. -

Upon review of your posts and history, it seems you’re not too involved in response and feedback.
@Ridgeline responded at length with zero response from you regarding your truck purchase.
You mentioned ODFL, but impatience prevailed. We spent 7 years there, it would’ve been a good vehicle.
DHT, Schneider etc . . All I can hope is that you have made good choices and will last the next year or two.
Good luck.
