Truckers went inside to have a meal...use the pay phone...grab a snack while on the run. Bought food while they were chillin in the lounge on their break. Nowadays with a fridges in the truck...inverters that help us cook and phones that let us watch movies...the only thing we have to go inside for is a shower...and by the looks of most out here they don’t even do that.

Getting a little greedy in my opinion with a we got ya attitude.
But as other posters have mentioned it's their business and they will do what the market will bear .
On a personal level tho it makes me less inclined to buy fuel from them anywhere but still depends on the individual truck stop regardless of the brand .
Some ta/petros are top notch and others I'd only use as a last resort .

I’d like to compare Love’s and T/A from their financial statements but Love’s is privately owned.

T/A is run by a bunch of incompetent nincompoops who are simply coasting and use the parking fees to mask their utter indifference as they cash a paycheck, do nothing, and keep their Earnings Per Share price up.

Love’s added 35 truck stops in 2018 and more than 40 more in 2019 - all without charging the truck driver for parking. They have been innovative in their computerized tire pressure sensor stations and their factoring services.

Love's will put TA/Petro out the of businesses. They closing the restaurant at night. Less and less driver will stop at TA/Petro. Even the paid parking won't be enough to keep them open. Just their basics idea not making drivers feel welcome to TA/Petro will hurt them once they lose the good name branding they once had. The used to the truck stops to going to. Not today unless you want to pay for parking

Its to bad they cant figure out their fuel island situation. Or why the nastiest drivers go to loves. They seem to attract more of the 4 wheeler crowd which i would go out on a limb and say thats where they are beating ta and petro . If loves catered more to truckers and could make their fuel islands not be 4 deep at every single one of them across the entire country i would stop there more often.

It’s hard to describe how incompetent the management of T/A is.

Loves has mastered - and found profitable - the smaller blended (semi & auto) truck stop. T/A has apparently just noticed that they are having their clock cleaned and are opening a smaller concept T/A, mimicking Loves, on the Kansas turnpike in June of 2020.

T/A’s Chief Financial Officer just quit and was replaced by the CFO from SeaWorld. No joke.

Making $150k a month off paid parking only and still don't fix the craters in the asphalt. TA logic

Oh yes. Just about every T/A and Petro you see is a virtual ghost town. No one at the pumps, parking available any time of the day.
