And by the way, bypass filters were factory equipment back in the 50's and 60's.
My 2016 has a factory bypass filter too.

100k miles on oil change? I dont care which oil youre running or bypass system you have-100k miles is just too long. There wont be any active ingredients left in that oil.
Also which oil lab was used for tests? Cheap T/A one or CAT, etc -
talked to pittsburg power about their bypass system and even with that they say 30,000 mile intervals max.

Yea I don't buy it a bit. Oil sample looks great, so it's still the oil to blame? BS..

Do explain 100k is to long if the oil sample says it's good and the additive package is sufficient. I would think most engines would burn enough oil that by topping it up would keep the additive package in good condition.
I agree that there is a big difference from a lab test to a bench top.
Something else I think is important is to use one lab. Not Cat this time Polaris labs next time and some other one the third time. -
Especially when this all happened at the mileage Cummins isx are known to puke a cam shaftScott72 Thanks this.

Thinking extended drain did not cause problems if the oil tested good.
Cummins has their own product for extended drain.
