I have an Mx13. I do filters at 20k, filters and oil at 40k. My samples always come back good, I could actually stretch mine out to 25/50 or more if I wanted. No way I’d spend $500 or so every 20k miles if I didn’t have to.

I work my Macks extremely hard, change the oil around 35,000 to 40,000 kilometers, which I think is around 22,000 to 25,000 miles.

My macks are done by oil analysis or time, not miles but it works out to be pretty high miles. I haven't checked in a bit but it is above 35k.

Years ago, 37K on oil was unheard of. In my BC's I'd change it once a month or 10K miles, and it looked like coal. To be honest, I don't think I ever drove a truck that didn't need some oil added between changes, even the few new trucks I drove. On a new truck, you'd think they'd have that licked by now.

The new DD13 and 15s don't burn oil. 50,000 mile oil changes. They have a bypass oil filter on the engines basically. So the oil is stays good

That's all b.s. its just a selling point for truck companies. They want to tell fleet owners "oh look, you don't have to maintain this truck very often" Trucking company will trade it in before warranty expires anyway and dealer will sell this truck as "fleet maintained vehicle" to the next sucker.

    2014 MX13 with 560k miles doesn’t use any oil.
I only add oil if the TA shorted me.. I also check my oil level every day..

I get the TA Ultimate service done at 15k miles earliest and 18k latest. Costs me $300ish.. Perhaps I’d push it to 20k but for me it’s too long in between chassis lube.

I run my truck very hard, Idle for days on end at times and have had zero problems with the engine so far.

I use full synthetic Chevron Delo 400 LE in all of my trucks.
I do disregard the makers recommendations though about viscosity I will admit.

It’s your right to drain perfectly good oil if you wish. Same as it’s my right to run my business as I see fit. If there’s a bypass filter on the engine, whether from the factory or aftermarket, it’s a waste of money to not extend drains.

Don't know about the selling points, but my 2014 DD15 has not used any oil in the year I've had it. Not a drop. I start looking for a change around 30k miles.
