I hate to talk smack about new drivers but this guy deserves it. I pulled into McLane in Nicholasville KY for my delivery this evening and after checking in with the guard and getting assigned a door I cruised down into the lot next to the warehouse to find this:

This genius (rookie) Werner driver did such a ###### job putting himself into the door he's blocking half of the next door over! Look, i know every driver is entitled to a crappy day every now and then and backing a 53' trailer isn't easy when you're just starting out but this is insane! He's "docked" at a 30 degree angle and his trailer's half on the dockplate half 18" away because of the angle! I approached him after I backed into my door and politely suggested he adjust it so the next driver can get in and he flipped me off and rolled up his window. To make matters worse, when he truck that needed the next door showed up 10 minutes later and told him the same thing he pulled his truck forward about 3 feet cut the wheel right and shut his truck off again... Which left him about a foot and a half over the line into the next dock!
So. A word or two of advice to you new folks. Don't be an idiot like this guy was. And if advice is offered listen to it.
(Note: my iPad takes these pictures and turns them sideways. You get the idea.)
Ok seriously?

Wow i am almost ready to go to school to drive a truck as soon as i get money right and as a son of a trucker that just sounds ridiculous he shouldve used common sense to know that another truck couldn't get in the dock and when u tried to give advice he shouldve accepted it im always looking for advice from veteran drivers csuse they know more than me but i really wouldn't have done what he done
Freddy57 Thanks this. -

Wow, I don't know how you kept your cool. It's one thing to park crooked, but when you politely asked if he could adjust to make it easier for the next driver, and he flipped you off, I would have lost it. Not worth getting arrested for, I'd call Werner, but not before I go inside and complain about this guy and make him park it straight.

These newer generations are getting worse what a d-bag

Encounter this often. Honestly, yeah it sucks, The driver sometimes knows what s/he did.
Single screw and a pup usually towing, not really a big deal. Heavy customer use the 53 footer.
Sometimes just have to pound on the door and tell the driver to dis-connect or yourself find another door. It sucks, Others have a job to do also.
Last resort,I mention it to the vendor and we both deal with the situation. Communication and being a regular works wonders on a site
Newer generation has nothing to do with it.Last edited: May 24, 2014

That's, umm. . . Werner.
Actually, I had a decent conversation with one the other day on the CB - yeah, I know - knew how to turn it on and talk politely!Shaggy Thanks this. -

Usually I'd agree. In this case he absolutely was a rookie. A guy with a smaller outfit was a couple of docks down and had a conversation with the guy (they were both Somali, go figure). Turns out the Werner guy didn't want to talk because his English wasn't good.
The really funny thing was when the Marten driver showed up trying to get at the blocked door. After he eventually got in (their mirrors were almost touching at this point) he told Werner not to leave and if he left before Marten got back from checking in (short walk to he far end of the dock) and hit his truck he was gonna kick this guys ###. He did actually do a good job leaving, missed taking Martens hood off by about an inch but he still made it. Before Marten had a chance to come back and say/do anything else.
