Best way to tic that gal off was to lock your door on the way in the scale (She had a habit of coming out and opening your door to yank on your seat belt). I'd lock mine every time and watch her waddle out and darn near throw her shoulder out trying to open the door. She'd beat on the door and I would give her the "just a sec" finger. Set the brake and shut the engine off. Then roll the window down. By this time she was generally fuming. Went by there on a very regular basis and it's a wonder I never once got inspected there.

Don't remember where but I have been across some weigh in motion scales.
-
The system went to a monthly fee years and years ago, there is no charge per bypass, just the fixed monthly fee. -
I can roll past the scale without prepass just as easily as the guy with it.
LoneCowboy Thanks this. -
I would think dot knows something about your load before you get there, pop ups on a screen.. sensors. I get pulled in for more for weight checks then anything else..
-
I get around 90% green lights. As for the red lights, Prepass is setup at 80k default. If your hauling more then this you need to contact prepass and send them the cab card so they can up the weight. We had this happen on our doubles we haul and ended up having to call prepass so they would put it down for 105,500. Now they also get green lighted.

80 to 90 percent green here. Depends on the state and if they have prepass.. Some don't

Louisiana was one of the first that I recall with the pre-weigh set up in the normal travel lanes. Best idea anyone ever had. It should be mandatory for any new federally approved scale site.
