I pay attention to the reduced speed signs on curves and ramps, and run 5-10 mph slower than is posted on the sign. Those signs are set for 4-wheelers, not big trucks.
Depending on load, I may run even slower around a curve. Trucks don't seem to drive to well on only half the wheels, ya?Roadmedic and CondoCruiser Thank this. -
The ones that blast on, sometimes take a break on their sides.

Yep them signs are a drivers life line.
But they are making trucking for dummies. The new trucks have electronic stability control. Hit a curve too fast and you need to hold on while the brakes lock down. -
stupidist thing to do going into a curve is hit the brakes....
You want to accelerate out of a corner not decelerate into it.
So slow down well before you hit it.
I wish I could find the video I used to know about that shows truck inertia in a corner. You can actually get out of the corner faster and make inertia work FOR you when you accelerate at the end of the corner. It's based off the physics of what the truck is doing when you accelerate and all.Last edited: May 11, 2012

I pay attention too, usually 5 mph slower and watch those zoom on by.
