As a tow truck operator I loved em.
The company I worked for had 6 ramp trucks all with the max force engine. That gave us on average 4 to use. That left 1 at the dealership and 1 waiting to go to the dealership.

I should clarify my last post. I loved em cause I made a lot of money towing them.
Terry270 Thanks this. -
I think we've all had our run-in's with "MinnForce" powered Prostars. Whenever I see one laying out a fog of blue and white smoke I know what kind of truck it is 9 times out of 10.
The truck itself is a piece of junk too. Ergonomics a monkey could have designed better. HVAC system hovers right around late 90's Ford quality. The switchgear is all cheap and brittle plastic. Just an awful truck. Cascadia or Volvo are both a ton better as far as fleet spec aero trucks go. -
I had one as a company truck...believe it! Within 3 weeks I was down a total of 4 days...1 for a fan clutch, which the part alone was a little over 2k, and an injector pump that blew up costing 3 days downtime. Before that, and before I was issued the truck, it already had the entire EGR system, DPF, turbo and head assembly replaced...and this was all by the time it hit 270k!!

International cant give those things away fast enough. Every time I get stuck behind one on the road it is usually belching smoke, I can smell it for miles. I wonder if its "california clean idle" compliant when it runs like that.
I think the government should compromise with Navistar and send every one of those pieces of crap to California who started all these problems to begin with.
The Maxxforce 15 was such a big faolure that I think it sold for less than year.
Did I mention the fact that the maxxforce was a useless piece of crap??? Didn't want to forget that fact...mxpx148 Thanks this.
