Is there any way I can adjust the timeout for when the Qualcomm unit goes into sleep mode? I hate getting live loaded and then having to wait for the stupid thing to boot back up before I leave. I've poked around the settings but can't find anything. Something the shop can adjust? Or some super secret maintenance mode key press that anyone knows of?

I don't miss it turning off in the middle of a message.

It's an administration setting as far as I know. Ours would time out at 30 minutes which was changed to 45 because drivers were complaining it co-incided with the 30 minute break and was holding them up.

When i get up int he morning, I start my pre trip, but after i turn the key it takes additional time to come on. I just edit my start time earlier to compensate. At a shipper, i;ll go on duty. get loaded. If the thing turns off while im on duty i just start driving. When it finaly wakes up it will put me on the drive line and ill just edit some of the on duty time to drive time when i stop. Ill put int he notes "Wake-up time". A dot officer once asked me about it and i explained. Didnt have any trouble. It old him, on paper i can leave whenever i want without waiting for the logging device. With elogs i just edit it after so i can leave when i want. Now technically if you get pulled over while its waking up, you might be SOL. but mine norm wakes up by the time i get out of the lot.

Now, the sleep mode is triggered by low batts. If you keep your batts nice and charged up it will never sleep. (at least mine doesn't) Mine only sleeps after a 10 hour breck with the heater on so by morn i only have 12 volts.

if its sleeping a lot, you may need new batts/ new alternator.

It only takes my Qualcomm 1 or 2 minutes to "wake up". That's never an issue for me

You can try talking to IT (800 number then option 2,.option 3. I think) and asking them to change the parameters but I think it's set system wide.

[IMG]Qc shuts down after 90 mins. Also if u get up turn key on to power unit up, by the time you get dressed the unit is awake. Switch over to on duty do pretrip and leave around 10 min mark. No reason to adjust times etc. And no you can't adjust the device.

mine says -- on that screen. I guess that's why mine only sleeps when i have low voltage.

In your fuse panel there are two black wires. one goes to battery and one goes to ignition. if you move the one from ignition and put it to battery also, the thing will never sleep. it thinks the key is always on.
