I'll bite.
@sawmill and @Old Man are smart cookies for different reasons, so listen good.
The DOD clearance may only be needed if you plan to run TEAM , AA&E.
@sawmill 's comment on the TYPE of trailer is solid advice, or as @Old Man would say " I've spent far more money on trailers than tractors in my time" .
I like "saving and planning". Include "learning and wrenching " in that approach.
You may find at the LS stage, your own authority becomes a wash - if you build enough good contacts.
Good luck.

Note - @T-BoneX , on the referenced picture, on the rear of the sleeper aerofoil, is four words . . . . unless you're the kinda guy that just loves driving ALL the time.whoopNride, T-BoneX and sawmill Thank this.

Fine. I'll put the stout down and go cut grass. And test the pool water.

Was under the impression that it required lots of training to secure loads.
This changes everything. -
Yes I'm home. Good place to be right nowblairandgretchen Thanks this.

Lots of common sense, and some good training.
Otherwise it'd be like neuroscience, and loads would never get delivered.RollinThunderVet, T-BoneX and Old Man Thank this. -
Question
Do you know if LS will hire you?
Do you know your security clearance is only good while you are at a LS company? You can't take it with you.
Buying a trailer is the way to go, they don't lose value like a truck and make money.
What part of the country is home?T-BoneX Thanks this. -
Clean license, no accidents/tickets, no felons, over 3 years experience, solid work history, will have a great tractor.
Why wouldn't they? If they don't there's others to chose from.
I didn't realize that I wouldn't be able to keep it if/when I left, that's good to know.
I will buy a trailer after training and after I know whether flat or step will be better for me.
I currently live in Indiana; however, no kids or wife (yet) and I'll travel where the money is
No rent/house payment ($35 storage unit as I plan to be majority OTR until I have this money banked)
