I don't know. I do know you won't pull Wally World's onions on a flatbed. I had to have my reefer on 55 continuous.

I've pulled onions in a dry van for another customer. In the winter they wanted you to supply a propane heater to put in the trailer with the onions. I always refused to do it. No way I'm running down the road (and sleeping at night with a propane heater running.

Seriously, they wanted a propane heater left on and unattended in a dry van? That is literally insane.

Yup, that's what I said too. Lol

I never checked, but I'd bet DOT would probably frown on that too.

When I was with Stevens, I hauled cuties (small oranges) from CA to FL. Then picked up Cuties in FL and took them to CA. Can't these guys order local? Lol

If they did, you'd be out of a job.

Even more funnier is the fact that they really need to check the actual product temp before its loaded on the trailer that then shifts the blame from the transporter to the shipper something alot of drivers forget to check most of the time when they get to the receiver and get a load rejected cause the temp is to high. Oh just a tip what some companies would do though is take the product back to a cold storage warehouse chill it right down then ship it back and they'll accept the same load. Cause all a reefer will do is maintain the temp its been loaded at, hence the importance of really checking the product temp before its loaded.

I agree. When I was at Estes they used cargo heaters all the time. It was news to me first time I saw them. Yea they run on propane. Of all the regulations and rules in Trucking, running a propane heater in a dry van you would not think would be one that is approved.

I did the orange thing too out of kissime Florida but watched as they literally unloaded the oranges, stamped them Florida, reloaded them and shipped them back to CA in the same totes
