I’ve heard of it, but, dismissed it as lunch counter stories. This poor industry.

 

but… but!! It’s running rough and smoking!! Gotta add deicer!! What if they shut truck down?? Then the heater in tank doesn’t work!

 

Y'all I knew I shoulda got a generator ta heat da tank!

 

Ya know, i want to be shocked. I really want to be suprised and be able to say stuff like this is a total 1 off we can laugh at. Then i look around at your average truckstop and realize the morons who do this outnumber the folks with even a lick of common sense. And then i realize its not even exclusive to truck drivers.

 

Years ago I was a driver in Fairbanks,working for one of the cold weather testing companies.We tested in -50 weather.Not many problems with the def systems,just let them work as designed.No additives,no winter front on the trucks to help.
A few of the trucks got some crystals in the system and it plugged the filter,messed up a couple pumps.

 

I think it's safe to say that those drivers were fired. I would have fired them for sure. Stupidity is worthy of a firing.
