Amen. Of course, it would help if the school bus drivers would show a little common sense and courtesy. Out here, there are a number of them that stop in the middle of the road, when there is ample room to pull of and let traffic go by, before starting their warning lights and opening their doors. Get caught behind them, and you will stop at every bus stop, until either you, or the bus turns off. I've also seen them blow railroad crossing without stopping, or if they do stop, stopping in the hammer lane

Some of these folks are just plain idiots!

 

I noticed that the bus that picked up and dropped off my daughter had a burned out headlamp for a week. Great pre trip!

 

DO NOT even try this nonsense here on a professional drivers' forum.

Professional drivers drive defensively and school busses are gigantic flashing yellow signs to BE CAREFUL AND SLOW DOWN. Is your being in a hurry more important than a kid's life or do you just not care about kids?
The whole idea of a school bus stopping in the road is that TRAFFIC STOPS so the kids can get off and go home safely. Driving around a school bus defeats the whole purpose of the LAW.

Blaming the school bus drivers is lame, silly, and absurd if not just plain trolling.
Take your gibberish someplace else like an alternate universe or something.

 

I always thought it was stupid for the short bus who picked up the handicapped kid on the street where I grew up who couldn't move his own wheelchair to turn on the stop lights the whole time it took to load this kid on the bus and secure him.

 

Well now, Mr. ApplachianTrucker, I guess you really told me off, didn't you. Hope you feel better now. And maybe if you have cooled off a bit, you can work on your reading comprehension. I said nothing about passing the bus as it was loading or unloading. Once those lights come on, anyone who does pass a bus deserves jail time.

Anyone know what happened to that trucker who got caught on dashcam blowing by the skool bus on the shoulder last season? He turned himself in but that was the last I heard of it.

 

Check out the Mpls Star Tribune they just had an article about it last week. He was charged but I cant remember what the charges were.
