La Bajada is the big hill on I-25 south of Santa Fe.
At the top is Waldo Canyon roadside inspection station, a couple miles north of the top of the hill is the rest area.

I'll be ######. I've run over that countless times and never knew it had a name.

"...for all drives and some followers," yo. Reading - it's a skill.
My doubles have cams on the inner and outer rails. I think. -
Usually pretty good parking on the south side. Some on the north side, but not as flat or roomy.

If anyone's in Chicagoland area looking for chains I have plenty! In my truck, in my car trunk. Been collecting them since 2012. Don't use them anymore! Some are still fresh in their bags. I kept buying these only cause I would go to Colorado few times a year, which was typically winter months, and required them, but I always dump them at home cause I want extra space in my truck for other things.

I had chains hanging on my trailer and someone stole them. Looking for 4 new singles. Will be in the St Paul area tonight but going back out west after so don't know when I will be back in Chicagoland though.

I was at the TA in Denver West a few years ago. It had snowed a lot over the night and was still going in the morning, Got a late start to leaving and when I did there was brand new chains sets all over the highway.
tucker Thanks this. -
I should add. I was heading out of Denver up and over the Eisenhower. I was chained up on 1 set of drives and 1 set of trailer tires. It was snowing real bad. I was like a freaking tank. I could stop and start whenever I wanted. There were trucks and cars stuck everywhere with no chains and DOT out writing tickets.
In the chain up areas there was maybe 6 kids. Well, not kids, maybe around 20 years old. They would chain up your truck for $25. I heard they stopped them from doing that, why, I don't know!!! -
Three railers have cams on the two outer rails. Tighten the inside just like you would the outside.
Something to think about on hard snowpack or ice....if you chain your four outside tires there's a chance you could spin down until your inside tires are on the snowpack, and there you sit. I've only seen it personally happen once, but there's always that chance. If you put three railers on you can dig until you get going. For me throwing a set of three railers is faster than throwing four singles.IH Truck Guy and TGUNKEL Thank this. -
Has anyone tried autosocks on a big rig?
I just got them for my 94 Chevy! -
