Just not sure how a tesla could carry enough speed to bury itself under a truck that far at the angle the truck spots are in relation to the exit lane and the 'Y' where the truck and car lot entrances split. The 1 pic I saw looked like it was closer to the exit before the split, but the one with the black vehicles in it shows the parking slots.
Maybe it's Tesla's version of Skynet and the car was told by Musk's central computer that the humans time on earth was up and it has to terminate them.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
The dead couple, from Lompoc, California, house has probably already been ransacked by thieves.
buddyd157, Studebaker Hawk and Boondock Thank this. -
Watch this commercial for the Chevrolet Bolt EV.
Openly encourages the driver to take his hands off the wheel while his 6 year daughter is in the back seat.
The average consumer would then think it is perfectly alright for this individual to turn around and give the little twerp gummy bears or some other very important task, while driving at 65 mph.
We are doomed.

and people are still buying those POS Tesla's..
i miss my 1977 Ford Pinto -
Probably wouldn’t need much speed to bury one under the bumper. There is literally nothing in the front of a Tesla that would absorb any of the force. No engine and anything that could have absorbed the impact was too low to begin with.
Taking their age into account, I suspect that they didn’t realize that they were in a rest area. Probably panicked once they realized what was happening and cut hard left.
The mind can play tricks on you sometimes. -
Yea, kinda surprised that Tesla hasn't made a public statement claiming that the autopilot was turned off. Conveniently ignoring the fact it was turned off 0.4 seconds before the wreck. At least that's their normal reaction.

I seen it all the time late at night as a driver you'd pull up to a rest stop and find trucks parked on the side of the exit ramp, I used to think is that legal? what would happen if someone run into a truck parked illegally on the off ramp or on ramp? And that would be the key to any law suit, if the truck was in fact parked illegally while the police kind of tolerate it as they'd rather have a tired driver off the road, if someone just happens to slam into an illegally parked truck then the gloves come off. If he was legally parked he has nothing to worry about.

You havent met your average commifornian. Most of them are psycopaths to begin with. Even if the driver was parked in a spot with his name on it behind concret barriers and as legal and safe as it is posible to get. He would still be sued because some sleezy whaaabulince chaser like the hammer will try to make it the drivers fault.
