Yeah and when it goes down it’s not cheap and the downtime is what kills you!
Then after it drives you nuts those hospitals aren’t cheap either! Lol

Read this before you pull the trigger, it’s worth the read. Repair shop has put me up against the wall.
If you buy new, you better trade before the warranty runs out. The truck you have now is worth gold.Rideandrepair, stillwurkin, rank and 1 other person Thank this. -
If the diff of 5mpg vs 7 puts you under you were already doomedRideandrepair, JonJon78, Crude Truckin' and 7 others Thank this.

It's called a slow death of a thousand cuts. This isnt 2018. With today's rates margins are thinner than ever. The difference between 5 and 7mpg on a 3000 mile week, with diesel priced at $3per gallon is $516. That doesnt account for idling or anything else. So its actual difference is probably closer to $575 a week. Or $27,600 a year.Rideandrepair, Cabinover101 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

The stuff bolted to the engine will offset the cost of any gain in fuel.
I bet the right driver that hood will do 6.5 mpg all day with 80k and under. If do 62-65 in i can break mid 7s all day with a 93 E-7 PLNRideandrepair, stillwurkin, spyder7723 and 3 others Thank this. -
There's no way i'd sell that truck if it was mine. It's just like has been said on here, either put the money in the fuel tanks or put the money into emissions nightmares and downtime. Personally a little extra fuel looks a lot better to me. It will be another case of a guy saying I should have never sold that truck after two weeks downtime and a $20, 000 bill.
Rideandrepair, stillwurkin and Brettj3876 Thank this. -
If you're in a hurry to sell it, then you're gonna take a low ball price. If not follow the advice given.
