If Melton said they can hire you, go work there right now and stay there for 12 months NO. MATTER. WHAT. That means not even bumping into ANYTHING.

Not every company that would hire you is a place good enough to work for.
THERE IS NO TRUCK DRIVER SHORTAGE.
The industry is in a recession.
There are too many trucks and drivers for the amount of freight that needs to be moved.

When its an employers market they can afford to be a bit more particular with who they choose to employ if there were 100 applications / resumes received from drivers and 30 of them had a clean DMV record there going to choose those over any of the other 70 that may have some citations. It has more to do with who they choose to insure with and what their polices are.

Hello (Wr)Joe, and welcome aboard. A ticket 20 over and probably NOT in a truck, pales in comparison to what comes through here. Mother rapers, father stabbers, father rapers,( Alices Restaurant) I'd say these here days, your only issue is that you are a new driver. That ticket might draw a red flag, but certainly shouldn't hold you back. Ticket aside, you'll have to accept the fact, you are starting at the bottom, and have to take what comes along. Unfortunately, it will be places like Western or Swift, and that's not all bad. Any seat time is good time, and I think you'll be fine. Do well there, and are good references for the future. I say, go into these places, IN PERSON, if they ask about the ticket, you can cross that if it happens, in the meantime, keepa you mouth shut!.:p Good luck,

    Numb Thanks this.

Used to be people recommended CR England to those who had few to no options, but now I never see anything about them. Have the finally went out of business or are they actually so awful nobody recommends them even to those with no other options?
