Going to be one less dream chaser with a CDL and a family with one less loved one. Sad deal.

Really sad deal, and I run that area alot, I am in North Dakota every day, I have to say (and it is mostly Canadian Drivers that do it) people need to get the f off the road when they are pulling over I see trucks pretty much nightly pulling off the road or fully or partially blocking a lane while doing something in the cab then getting moving again, if you need to pull over for whatever reason use an exit ramp, unless the truck is actually dead pull off at the next exit ramp and take care of your problem. You are putting you and everyone around you in danger when you are on the dam shoulder doing whatever it is your doing.

The last week alone I’ve passed a few in Kentucky usually setting on the berm 1/2 way up an incline, seems going to the top or finding an area with no guardrail would be more suitable.
I know jumping off the exit and going to the Truckstop takes more time, but it’s the safer choice.
Maybe these guys are running so short in time they can’t spare the extra time before nanny says “your done”?? Just speculating since I’m not familiar with that system….Flat Earth Trucker and The Railsplitter Thank this. -
Though I run local, I have a few runs that take me down 75 towards Atlanta and 24 towards Nashville.
All too often I see trucks lined up down the ramps onto the shoulder, and well past the ramp areas...
We're talking 3 to 5 trucks... At each end of the ramp.
I know it sucks to have to find parking for the night, especially when your clock is screaming at you.
I don't have an answer, and my pockets aren't deep enough to make a solution, but it's something I ponder often.
I don't know if a paid parking concept is viable, and if that's something that is desirable, what price vs amenities would be most attractive?
I know showers and sanitation are key.
Beyond that, I have no idea.Flat Earth Trucker, Just passing by and The Railsplitter Thank this. -
See more each year.
NO situational awareness or trucking acumen.

They need to put parking areas in the interchanges all that land is not used. Not an easy solution, but somebody has to get it started.
