Have any of you wal mart drivers been on this new Dwell Time program they are working on??? They want an average time to get in to a warehouse, drop, swap bills, hook and get out the gate. If you exceed that time, you have to justify it. All showers and other activity must be logged off duty. I am supposing this is to cut down on PTO paid to drivers...comment???

Northeasterner and truckdriver31 Thank this. -
you shower, while on duty??
-
Lol

I think walmart doesn't want drivers in the dc longer than to swap trls..in essence...who cares if anyone needs to shower if driver should need one...another example of lower standards.
-
They can hire a thousand people and buy 400 forklifts per distribution center system wide and they will see that trailers only need 10 minutes to unload. Bills take longer to generate.

if you use your wm credit card. my dc requires you to be on dutyTransplantBadger Thanks this.
-
Yes and if your buying cleaning products for your WM truck you cannot use your WM discount card for said products. Don't think the stores want to give transportation a break
truckdriver31 Thanks this. -
i was told its because of a business expense stuff that the supply chain does on taxes.

Haven't heard anything like this yet. Only time im off duty is my required 30 minutes. If im responsible for a truck, awaiting dispatch, or not at home, I'm on duty.
